AIRGAP LLM is a Melbourne consultancy that deploys self-hosted AI for organisations that can't send sensitive data to public platforms. Founded by Nick Carlton and Sasa Abe, we work with law firms, healthcare providers, and financial services teams across Melbourne — installing language models on their hardware, building private document search systems, and keeping everything running.
We started AIRGAP LLM after watching the same pattern play out at firm after firm: staff wanted to use AI, compliance said no, and everyone was stuck. The answer was obvious — deploy AI that doesn't send data anywhere — but nobody was offering that as a service to mid-market firms in Melbourne.
So we built it. Our first deployment was for a healthcare client who needed to search 15 years of clinical policies without putting anything in the cloud. That system worked, and word spread. Now we deploy on-premises AI for firms handling legal privilege, patient records, and APRA-regulated financial data.
